Google Drive integration for EU AI Act compliance: shared drives as an external evidence source

Not every piece of evidence lives in SimpleAct itself. With the Google Drive integration, link shared drives or folders directly as an external evidence source for your governance requirements.

Available in the product

SimpleAct links Google Drive folders to governance requirements — existing document stores become an evidence source without moving files.

Shared drives or folders as an evidence source
Secure, service-account-based connection
No duplication of existing document stores

What the integration does

Use existing document stores as governance evidence

Much evidence — policies, training materials, approval documents — already lives in Google Drive. The integration makes it usable without migration.

Link a shared drive

An entire shared drive can be set as an evidence source — e.g. for QMS documents or training records.

Folder as evidence source

Alternatively, link individual folders to a governance requirement when only part of the store is relevant.

Documentation source for requirements

Linked content is available in the evidence register and can be assigned to requirements, controls, or AI systems.

Workflow

How to link Google Drive to governance

No data migration — your existing store stays right where it is.

01

1. Set up a service account

Enter the service account email and its key in SimpleAct settings. Access is limited to content you explicitly share.

02

2. Share drive or folder

Share the desired shared drive or folder with the service account and enter the folder or shared drive ID.

03

3. Evidence in the register

The linked store appears as an evidence source and is ready to assign to requirements and for exports.

What teams can do with the Google Drive integration

Built for existing document stores — not as another place to store files.

Link shared drives as an evidence source
Target individual folders precisely
Service-account-based, controlled access
No migration of existing documents required
Assign to requirements, controls, or AI systems
Enterprise feature, configurable per tenant

Frequently asked questions about the Google Drive integration

Do I need to copy documents from Google Drive into SimpleAct?

No. The integration links your existing store as an evidence source — your files stay in Google Drive.

What access does the service account need?

Only read access to the shared drives or folders you explicitly share. You control the sharing directly in Google Drive.

Can we assign multiple folders to different requirements?

Yes, each linked folder or shared drive can independently be assigned to one or more requirements.

Use existing evidence instead of storing it twice

With SimpleAct's Google Drive integration, existing document stores become auditable governance evidence — no migration required.
